BONUS POST: Halloween on Hyperdrive

Image
Another new image for Halloween! I've been doing a lot of Paint.NET images lately and I'm excited to show you what I have in store. For this one I was experimenting with a lot of different effects, like Radial Extruder, ZigZag (both by TechnoRobbo on the Paint.NET Forums ) and a few classics such as Polar Inversion, and Dents. One effect I haven't used in a long time that I used here was Zoom Blur (no, not the deluxe, just the regular one), and some other blurs. Here's the image. I also kept adding new layers since I didn't want to use many of my favorite effects here and experiment with new ones. I also worked a lot with different layer blending modes and positioning the purple "light" in the right areas and making everything blend right. Overall, I think I did a pretty good job. I hope you all had/are having a wonderful Halloween and I'll post something on here soon.

Halloween Wolves

Image
Happy Halloween!! I have an image that I made last year for Halloween, but didn't get a chance to post it here before Halloween was over. Oh well, better late than never. Lots of Halloween inspired colors in this one, kind of messy, but still pretty cool none the less. As you can see, effects like Dents, Polar Inversion, and Tile Reflection were used, and the "eyes" for the wolf's head are there in the middle. Not my best image, but at least it's something posted. I hope that I get enough time to post regularly for a while, if at least once per month. Have a Happy Halloween everyone, and I'll have something else up for you soon.

Throw Back Thursday: Vortex

Image
I know some of you are probably itching for new art, so I decided to post this, even though it's old. This is an image that I made a long while ago, back when I was active on the Paint.NET Forums and was doing a few tutorials. This one is called Vortex (since that's what the tutorial was called), but I then added my own spin on it to make it more vibrant. I apologize for not being able to find the tutorial. It's been a while and I did try to find it. If anyone knows where it is at, let me know so that I can give the publisher credit for helping make this image. I hope you enjoy a post from me with actual art, and I hope to have something else up here soon.

Dusting Off the Blog

Well, once again I let this blog collect dust for a while. Work and school has taken a toll on my time so I may not be able to post anything here until November or December. I apologize to anyone that is a faithful viewer of my content, and I'll be sure to make more art come November and December.

Amethyst Within

Image
This image is made from scratch, so no stock photos this time. I decided I have used a lot of blue and red, orange and red, as well as purple and blue, so why not change things up. I took my own advice from last post and tried something new, and I like the results! I call this one Amethyst Within and I think it is awesome! You normally think of pink as being a bright, girly color that is happy, but I was playing with blend modes and when the darker image came up, I knew that is where I wanted to go. I also did something different, where the pink and grey background I made and used before everything else, is on top of everything. So say I created layer 1, then layer 2, then 3 and so on. Instead of keeping them like that, I stacked them like 3 on top of 2, which is on top of 1. More layers obviously, but you get the idea. I then asked my wife what a good name for it would be, and she said anything with the word Amethyst, since it looks like one. I didn't know about that gem, s...

Echo

Image
This image uses the same method I used to make Melting Furnace which is take a stock photo and manipulate it like crazy to result in a new image. This image I used Mystic Colors as the stock shown below. I used a lot of Dents, Polar Inversion, and a lot of layer properties to make it look how I wanted it to. The nice purple and blue shine that it has makes me think of sound waves, but you can't just make it sound waves, not the best name. Hence the name that was officially given being Echo. I hope you enjoy and I'll have something else up here soon. Enjoy my older works in the meantime and see how far I've come.On that thought, if you are thinking of trying something new and aren't sure if you will be successful, just try it. You will never know until you try. Take a look at my works, the first year was horrid in comparison to now and that's all that matters in life. If you've picked something up that you don't know if you can continue, again don...

Class of 2017

Image
My little sister has graduated High School and is off to college in a few days. That, to me, is crazy to think about since she is the youngest in the family. I don't know what I will do without her nearby, but I'm sure we will adapt. I know that I've had many experiences where I've left my family, and it was hard, but you have great experiences, and you may start a family of your own (like me). Goodness I'm starting to ramble on, anyways this image has a bit of the same style as the past High School graduation images I've made since I wanted to be consistent. This one is obviously a bit more full of color since I've gained more experience since 2010. Kaleidoscope was used obviously like the last ones, Zoom Blur Deluxe, and Radial Blur Deluxe to name a few. We've also moved since 2012 so hence she is graduating from SHS and not BHS. SHS' colors are yellow and blue so that is why those colors are the main ones here (obviously). Hope you enjoyed...
