Sandstone Patterns

I love summer! It's a great time of year and I love going out and taking hikes, riding my bike, or just take a walk. Of course, summer has to come to a close, but it'll be back next year. Summer always reminds me of my hometown and I created an abstract image that I think looks like the patterns that show up in Sandstone. I actually took the full size image of a Sig I created a while ago of a dragon from the game Starcraft. With that image, I distorted it until you see the new image called Sandstone Patterns.


I used my classic effects such as Radial Blur, Polar Inversion, Glass Vignette, and Radial Extruder to get the effects that I wanted. I then used a few blend modes such as Multiply, Glow, and Color Dodge. I then merged the entire image and did a few more distortions, but I didn't like it as much since it covered up some of the different patterns I initially saw, so I took it out. Eye of the Beholder

Once again, this is a fractal manipulation that honestly I didn't see as an eye until the last second. I also didn't really know where else to go with this until I saw the eye, then I knew what to do. When I finished it, the title came to my head, and so here I give you Eye of the Beholder. Not much different from the last image, just a bit of Radial Blur for the background, then Polar Inversion for the swirls of the fractal, then I duplicated the Polar Inversion layer, flipped it around, then merged it down. I then duplicated that, then did another Polar Inversion, and blurred the middle with Gaussian Blur where the eye was, added a bit of blue for the iris, and blurred that as well. I then added a glassy look to it and called it good. Layer blend modes used are Overlay, Glow, Lighten, Additive, Color Dodge, Multiply, and Normal in the middle and bottom of the image. Big Jet from Little Einsteins

Yet another image of a character from the show Little Einsteins. Thought this Thanksgiving week, that I would show my thankfulness by making these for my boys, who LOVE this show. After making Rocket, I thought, why not make the enemy of the show, who's name is Big Jet. I also made a coloring page of this, which can be found a while back on my Instagram page. Here is the finished image. Like Rocket, I started with an outline of Big Jet based on this picture , but was also going for making it more high def. I then filled in the color, and applied some of the shading after. For some reason this one wasn't as hard as Rocket, either because there are more straight lines, or because I knew more of what I was doing. Happy After Valentines Day

I know, it's not Valentines Day anymore, but oh well. I didn't want to post this on here since I have a link on the Paint.NET forum to my blog and this was for a competition. I think that voting is over for it though so I'm going to go ahead and post my picture on here. It was for the WOTW #30 with the theme as Valentines Day! It's nothing in comparison to the other entries! There were some really amazing pictures in there!!! I hope you like it and that you had a great Valentines Day!!!
